The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior or Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our national water team in Adelaide. You’ll lead the delivery of complex engineering solutions across large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants and pump stations (>500L/s).

You’ll bring deep expertise in:

  • Mechanical design and commissioning
  • Equipment selection and specification
  • Process optimisation
  • Construction support
  • Risk management aligned with WHS and industry standards

Ideally, you’ve led teams through all project phases from planning and concept design to procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of mechanical design and installation
  • Collaborate on bids and tenders, reviewing documentation and refining cost estimates
  • Work with procurement teams to define scopes and coordinate vendor engagement
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a key technical liaison
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive innovation and ensure successful project outcomes

About You

You’ll ideally be a Chartered Professional Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related discipline), and have:

  • Proven leadership in mechanical design for water/wastewater treatment projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with digital engineering platforms (e.g. BIM/Revit)
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent technical writing and organisational skills
  • A passion for mentoring and team development
