We are looking for a 1st shift Purchasing Specialist within the MRO Purchasing department.
General Summary:
Key responsibilities include collaborating with departments to identify needs, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and analyzing market trends to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and forecast critical chemicals and supplies.
- Issue and maintain purchase orders.
- Run Min/Max Reports to assist with proper generation of orders to suppliers
- Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve billing issues
- Investigate and resolve unfilled orders
- Respond to stock outages reported by maintenance and stock cage personnel
- Setting up new items into an inventory management system (Oracle)
- Support Change Management Activities (FSR, ECI, ECR, TM, etc.) as needed
- Investigate new stock requests (review for duplicate items, quote/requote for best pricing, etc.)
- Monitor and process special orders/spot buys
- Communicate product usage to other departments as requested
- Attend recurring department meetings and communicate focus item status
- Assist department and company on MRO Cost Reduction activities
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure achievement of department and company plan
Skills & Abilities Required
- Strong negotiation skills
- Understanding of currency fluctuation contracts
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal and external contact
- Knowledge of contracts and purchase agreements
- Knowledge of company policy, principles, and practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills
- Strong computer skills
Minimum Level of Preparation & Training Required
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required
- A Bachelor's degree or related experience is preferred
Salary Range: $49,888 - $61,535
