The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who thrives in complexity, has a strong understanding of ETO processes, and brings structure to a fluid production landscape. This role is critical to ensuring on-time delivery, resource optimization, and operational clarity across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Primary Duties:

Master Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule (MPS) that aligns with project milestones, material lead times, engineering release dates, and manufacturing capacity
  • Translate project-specific requirements into executable production plans while balancing resources, constraints, and priorities
  • Drive schedule adherence and facilitate proactive adjustments based on project changes, delays, or unforeseen constraints

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer orders
  • Work closely with materials and procurement to ensure long-lead items are procured in alignment with the schedule
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure BOM completeness and setup

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Analyze and report schedule performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and lead recovery planning when necessary
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (SIOP) processes and provide input for capacity and resource planning
  • Establish KPIs to measure scheduling effectiveness and drive continuous improvement

Process Optimization & Tool Development

  • Continuously improve scheduling processes, tools, and systems to increase visibility, agility, and reliability in production planning
  • Drive projects for new tool development that aid in planning transformation and operational scalability

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in production scheduling or planning within an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or complex manufacturing environment
  • Deep understanding of MRP/ERP systems and their application in dynamic, project-driven production environments
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive schedule adherence, and lead recovery planning across cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in schedule performance metrics, capacity modeling, and bottleneck identification
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence stakeholders across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality
  • Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (SIOP) and contributing to long-range capacity and resource planning
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements, implementing planning tools, and developing KPIs for production performance
  • High attention to detail, structured thinking, and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity

Why LayerZero?
