Job Title: Repair Technician I

 

General Function:
Under close supervision, the Repair Technician I will utilize detailed documentation to perform basic inspection, testing, and repairs of large TV displays. This position provides opportunities to learn processes and basic repairs for laptops, PCs, desktops, and networking equipment, preparing for potential advancement within the technician role.

 

Position Type & Benefits:

This is a part-time, non-benefitted position averaging approximately 25 hours per week. While health and retirement benefits are not offered, the position includes a part-time PTO plan in accordance with company policy.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following duties provide a broad overview of the various tasks you may be involved in. This list is not exhaustive, and you may be asked to assist with other related activities that contribute to your growth and development in this role.

  • Perform basic inspections and testing of large TV displays following detailed instructions and diagrams.
  • Refurbish and cleanse displays prior to storage or shipping.
  • Adhere to all company and department policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Engage in training to develop skills in inspecting, testing, and repairing laptops, PCs, desktops, and networking equipment.
  • Follow detailed documentation to assist in performing basic upgrades and maintenance on various devices.
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development to prepare for potential advancement.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to:

  • Stand or walk for up to 95% of the time.
  • Talk or hear, in person and by multi-media.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate tools, air hoses, office equipment, and small components.
  • Reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequently walk, stand, and move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Ascend and descend stairs.

While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to:

General  Environment:
Work is generally performed at workbenches with tools and standard office equipment available.

 

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for learning and developing technical skills in electronics repair. While prior experience is not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Basic understanding of electronics and computer components.
  • A+ certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and development.
