Summary

The Infrastructure Engineer I supports our IT infrastructure operations. Under direct supervision, this position will assist with the deployment, maintenance, and support of enterprise systems including Active Directory, Office 365, Citrix, VMware, storage systems, and both LAN and WAN networks.


Essential Functions

  1. Assist in the administration and maintenance of Active Directory and Office 365 environments, including account onboarding
  2. Support day-to-day operations of Citrix and VMware infrastructure under guidance from senior team members.
  3. Monitor and assist in enforcing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across the organization.
  4. Help implement and support a Data-Centric Security Architecture with a focus on data protection.
  5. Perform routine tasks in managing network storage systems including SAN and NAS.
  6. Assist in configuring and troubleshooting LAN and WAN network components (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN).
  7. Collaborate with senior engineers to roll out infrastructure changes and improvements.
  8. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
  9. Document infrastructure procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  10. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to enterprise infrastructure.
  11. Coordinate configuration and deployment of virtual servers, web servers, storage arrays, firewalls, and switches.
  12. Manage backup systems for network servers including replication to off-site DR datacenter, and backup retention based on audit standards.
  13. Maintain accurate records for hardware and software inventory, maintenance, and registration, ensuring compliance with software licensing. 
  14. Diagnose and resolve simple or complex network and server problems to ensure minimal disruption of mission-critical systems and applications. 
  15. Communicates resolution timeline with internal customers, including follow-up communication.
  16. Other responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent communication and documentation skills, both verbal and written.

  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
  2. 1–3 years of experience in a system administration or IT support role.
  3. Basic knowledge or exposure to:
  • Active Directory and Office 365 management
  • Citrix technologies (preferred but not required)
  • VMware virtualization platforms
  • Network storage concepts (SAN/NAS)
  • LAN/WAN network fundamentals
  • IT security principles and DLP basics
  1. Knowledge of Best-practice management, control, and monitoring of virtual server infrastructure. 
  2. Hands-on lab or internship experience with any of the technologies mentioned.
  3. Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
  4. Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MTA or Associate Certification, Citrix Desktop, or VMware Associate preferred.
