ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
The Collateral Management Loan Associate performs duties associated with payoff requests and collateral releases for commercial, residential and consumer loans. This position includes but is not limited to processing payoff quotes, monitoring UCC continuations, performing research, preparing and submitting legal documents to appropriate sources to cancel, and maintaining collateral data on the loan system.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. Prepares quotes for payoff requests.
2. Prepares mortgage documents including discharges and satisfactions to be executed by management and forwards for cancellation to the appropriate recording office.
3. Prepares and sends cancellation final packages to the borrower.
4. Responds, researches, and provides guidance to internal and external customer inquiries.
5. Orders title searches for discharge requests and CEMA loan payoffs.
6. Responsible for the daily monitoring of Paid Loan Reports and payoff spreadsheet.
7. Monitors and processes UCC continuations.
8. Performs reviews of department processes to ensure optimal efficiency.
9. Reviews and performs updates to procedures to ensure they are in compliance with regulations and are reflective of current practices.
10. Verifies the accuracy of collateral release forms and documents to be cancelled.
11. Scans completed payoff checklists and daily work to archival system.
12. Completes maintenance as required for collateral and escrow data in the core banking system and third-party vendor systems used by Collateral Management team.
13. Responsible for maintaining loan files and file room locations.
14. Reviews, proves, and submits end of day totals for department settlement.
15. Participates in conversions, mergers, and other projects as assigned by Collateral Management Manager.
16. Assists with gathering of information for audits and loan sales activity as requested.
17. Keeps current knowledge of all related systems including but not limited to the Core Banking System, Loan Originations, Collateral Tracking, Tax Tracking, and Insurance Services.
18. Performs duties to become cross trained to assist in other areas of collateral management including escrow payment processing and insurance tracking.
19. Understands compliance with all regulations governing the banking industry, as well as agency guidelines and organization policies.
20. Understands the compliance requirements for Loan Servicing Operations to ensure files are maintained in accordance with regulations.
