A wonderful family in Fort Wayne (near Brookside Church off Evard Rd) is looking for a Part-Time Adult Care Companion to provide supportive, compassionate care for their 63-year-old mother, living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The role focuses on companionship, light assistance with hygiene, and general household support to ensure her comfort and well-being.
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Days: Monday–Saturday
- 5 days per week, schedule varies; occasional Saturdays
- Hours: 4 hours per day, between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm (based on family schedule)
- Guaranteed 20 hours per week
Rate: $10–$15 per hour (depending on experience)
1 client: 63 year old, female
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with light hygiene needs (showering support, toileting assistance)
- Prepare simple meals and assist with cooking
- Perform light housekeeping duties
- Support daily routines and encourage engagement in activities
- Ensure safety and comfort throughout care
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in adult care, home aide, or related field
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check and social media screening
- Must provide 2 professional care-related references
- Kind, patient, and caring personality
Compensation
This position pays $10–$15 per hour (based on experience). With guaranteed 20 hours per week. The family is looking for someone long term.
