JOB SUMMARY

The Detailer is responsible for reviewing architectural plans, specifications, and schedules to develop accurate door, frame, and hardware submittal packages. This role involves identifying appropriate products that meet project requirements and budgets, while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. The Detailer works closely with contractors, architects, and internal teams to maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Accuracy, technical knowledge, and attention to detail are critical to supporting effective project execution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Review architectural plans, specifications, addenda and construction schedules to fully understand project scope and opening requirements. 
  2. Collaborate closely with contractors, architects and internal team members to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Identify the most appropriate products and pricing to meet project needs and budgets. 
  4. Create submittals ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Strong understanding of product specifications, applications and building codes
  2. Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and construction documents
  3. Familiarity with Comsense or similar industry software
  4. Organized with strong time management and problem-solving skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • In office environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

PLANNED BUSINESS TRAVEL 

  • This job requires less than 10% planned business travel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred. 
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience required.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
