About the Role
The Associate Product Merchandiser, Equestrian Footwear will become a key driver of the business. The person in this position will partner with product managers on overall organization, samples, line planning, product strategy, development process, and launch activities. The Associate Product Merchandiser will evaluate business analysis of product categories as well as develop knowledge of products including current line, upcoming launch seasons, and those in the development pipeline. The person in this role will be trained to be a key driver of a specific business responsible for developing the category strategy, managing the look and feel of the product line and delivering to the financial and efficiency targets of the category.
You’ll Make a Difference By
- Supporting management of the Equestrian footwear and accessories business.
- Executing category-aligned decisions.
- Maintaining and updating all merchandising documents used by the Product Managers.
- Leading management of product samples for the Product Managers.
- Partnering with the Product Managers on pricing, margin initiatives, and ensuring accuracy of printed & online materials.
- Managing all packaging for the category.
- Gathering market data via sales reports, industry publications, events, and shows to identify and expanding Ariat market opportunities.
- Supporting the Product Managers in creating strategies for product teams, including product boards, focus groups, event participation, competitive pricing analysis, and customer profiling.
- Participating in product brainstorms and assisting in setting up project lists and briefs.
- Performing competitive brand market research.
- Serving as Centric & SAP expert, supporting the Product Managers with all system requirements.
- Collaborating to define target consumer demographics and psychographics, addressing unmet needs.
- Building strong relationships with core product teams.
Product Line Planning
- Knowing and understanding the product pipeline and target consumer.
- Collaborating on seasonal merchandising plans and managing development projects.
- Partnering on seasonal market research, merchandising plans, and creative product briefs.
- Assisting the Product Managers with line reviews, pre-lines/market feedback, final line decisions, and launch planning.
Marketing
- Delivering data for packaging, hangtags, catalogs, websites, and B2B.
- Coordinating with the Product Managers to ensure products are correct and ready for photo shoots.
- Supporting the Product Managers in preparing for sales meetings, events, and customer visits.
- Managing requests and ensuring accuracy of Product Sell Sheets.
Sales Support
- Contacting sales reps to follow up on product meetings.
- Attending pre-lines as needed.
Business Management
- Analyzing seasonal sales by style, color, and channel distribution.
- Partnering with the Product Managers to identify close-out or phase-out opportunities and planning product lifecycles.
- Completing weekly and monthly booking analyses.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years in merchandising or related field
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and writing skills
- Adaptable, curious, and passionate about product and fashion
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning abilities
- Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Maintains professionalism and collaboration across teams
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of English riding a plus; interest in merchandising and fashion preferred
