Job Description:

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our on-site Safety team in Clarion, IA. Hagie Manufacturing is a leader in the agricultural industry in providing crop protection solutions to customers. As a member of our safety team, you will be providing opportunities for planning, coordinating and performing Health & Safety work for a project or process of limited scope. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel, including contractors. Work plans and decisions are typically made within established guidelines and reviewed by others. This position reports to the Safety Manager. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Participates in the development of systems, work practices and procedures for the implementation of company environmental and public health policies, procedures and systems. Accomplishes this by working with Human Resources, Environmental/Health/Safety Shared Services, unit management and department personnel.  

  • Compiles necessary data, documentation and correspondence to comply with safety regulations and Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) requirements.  

  • Conducts safety audits and risk assessments to identify noncompliance with Hagie Manufacturing standards, processes and applicable laws and regulations.  

  • Participate in incident investigations and ergonomic reviews and assist in determining effective corrective action.  

  • Communicates results of analysis and interpretation to appropriate work group for awareness and any required action.  

  • Develops, directs and conducts safety presentations and training.  

  • Utilizes acquired knowledge to respond to both internal and external questions / requests for information relevant to safety and health issues.  

Qualifications:

Role Skills: 

  • Knowledge of Governmental/Agency Regulatory Requirements or Legislation, Occupational Health Principles, Occupational Safety Programs and Ergonomic Principles, and Ability to Apply to Workplace Environments.  

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and Requirements.   

  • Has a general understanding of ergonomic and industrial hygiene principles.  

  • Has a general understanding of incident investigation and injury and illness reporting requirements.  

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations. - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
