About the Role:
The Lab Courier plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and secure transportation of laboratory specimens, medical samples, and related materials between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and other designated locations. This position demands meticulous attention to detail to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive biological samples throughout the delivery process. The Lab Courier is responsible for adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to prevent contamination or loss of specimens. By efficiently managing routes and schedules, the courier supports the seamless operation of diagnostic and research activities that depend on prompt sample analysis. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to patient care and scientific outcomes by facilitating reliable and accurate sample handling and delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
- Basic knowledge of safety and handling procedures for biological specimens.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in courier services, especially within healthcare or laboratory environments.
- Familiarity with local geography and efficient route planning.
- Certification in hazardous materials handling or biohazard safety.
- Basic computer skills for logging deliveries and communicating with dispatch.

Responsibilities:
- Collect and deliver laboratory specimens and medical samples promptly and securely between hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare facilities.
- Ensure all samples are properly labeled, packaged, and handled according to established safety and regulatory guidelines to maintain sample integrity.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and chain-of-custody documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, healthcare staff, and supervisors to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
