How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future:

Development & Teamwork

  • Mastery of all A&A Staff Accountant roles and responsibilities.
  • Complies with all Firm policies and procedures including, but not limited to, time entry, scheduling, CPE, and professional, ethical and quality control standards.
  • Leads one or more client assignments simultaneously, ensuring overall success of each project.
  • Takes ownership of work schedules through effective use of project management techniques. This not only includes their own schedule, but the schedules of staff they are leading as well.
  • Communicates with the project manager to ensure the entire team is informed of the project status and timeline.
  • Ability to effectively work amongst others Departments and learn service offerings across Departments (i.e., Tax, Small Business, State and Local Tax (SALT), Cross-Border Tax, etc.)
  • Drafts client deliverables, including financial statements, board reports, etc.
  • Shares and transfers knowledge within the team.
  • Actively pursues self-development opportunities.
  • Builds and nurtures working relationships with client management.
  • Timely responds to clients in accordance with Firm policy.
  • Utilizes Firm’s technology tools to maximize efficiency.
  • Advises and coaches staff by providing consistent recognition and encouragement and sets an example by demonstrating high energy levels and enthusiasm.
  • Performs a detailed self-review and/or review of the team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed-upon time frames.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve assignment efficiencies and identifies any risk management issues.
  • Actively supports Firm-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to manage unanticipated daily disruptions and accommodate and prioritize client needs.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a large volume of client engagements while maintaining efficiencies and high-quality client service.

Technical Ability & Business Knowledge

  • Develops deeper knowledge and skills in a technical field based on their client-base.
  • Starts to express an interest in a specialization or focus. Business Development
  • Continues to build and nurture networking relationships with potential referral sources and peers in industry and competing firms.
  • Engages in client meetings and calls to identify client needs and opportunities to sell additional value-added services and cross-selling opportunities and refers them to the appropriate team member.
  • Actively participates in blog, article and success story writing, and Firm-hosted webinars.
  • Actively participates in regular BD team meetings and Firm’s documented sales process. Is prepared with client case studies and new client opportunities and is able to discuss next steps, with the goal being new client acquisition or growth in existing client work.
  • Provides follow up as to the outcome of the engagement as well as presenting on new opportunities.
  • Has active social media accounts and regularly likes, shares and posts new content, with the goal of becoming a practice area expert.
