AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. This part-time, temporary position will have responsibility within the Information Technology department for support and maintenance of computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. Also responsible for troubleshooting problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and providing end user training and assistance where required.
Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an Associate or bachelor’s degree program preferred
- Some hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting and support experience preferred
- Basic technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards
- Able to read and understand technical and procedural documentation
- Able to assemble and configure computers and peripherals with hardware and software
- Able to handle multiple, changing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational, reporting, and time management skills
- Demonstrated customer-service orientation and attitude
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively with IT teams including development, quality, support, and infrastructure, to produce high quality software products

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to service requests to diagnose and correct equipment failure and malfunctions and replace or repair malfunctioning equipment
- Service copiers and printers by changing toners, rollers, fuser assemblies, and general cleaning and maintenance
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and hardware products
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software
- Assist in the maintenance of computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, and other peripheral equipment
- Perform all functions in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as legal, licensing and copyright requirements
- Accurately and timely document all support activities per approved policies and procedures
- Participate in and support a highly collaborative development environment
- Support IT teams in troubleshooting and repair of problems with new and legacy software systems and other technology solutions
- Assist senior development staff in pursuit of development objectives
- The position may require additional duties as assigned
