About the Department

Position is responsible for implementing and monitoring social media activities across various social channels, as well as guiding the college on integration and best practices to maximize social media’s impact on the college’s marketing and community relations outreach. 

Position Duties

A bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing or a related field required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in public relations or social media required.   A minimum of one (1) year of experience creating content and managing an organization’s social media platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, blogs, etc. preferred.   

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.
  2. Implement department programs or initiatives.
  3. Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  4. Maintains department records and files, as required.
  5. Conduct and attend meetings, as required.
  6. Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.

Other Qualifications

  1. Develop and execute creative the college’s overall social media strategy to increase visibility and website traffic.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of social media best practices to advance the college’s marketing and promotional goals. 
  3. Manage the college’s presence in social networking sites including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging social media platforms.
  4. Coordinate with stakeholders across the college and provide training for effective and appropriate use.
  5. Serve as a online CCBC spokesperson, with 24/7 accessibility, providing timely responses to direct messages, comments, mentions and relevant keywords, directing inquiries to appropriate resources/departments.  
  6. Conduct analysis and recommendations on adopting new social media platforms for the college, as needed.
  7. Develop social media campaigns to promote the marketing and promotional needs of the college and individual schools, divisions, departments, and offices. 
  8. Attend on-campus events to compile social media content. Familiarity with social media livestreaming capabilities and best practices is preferred. 
  9. Collaborate with student social media ambassadors and interns who are assisting in content creation and engagement.
  10. Identify and monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs and analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns.
