Stevens Equipment Supply, a member of Daikin Industries Inc., is a wholesale distributor of equipment, parts & supplies to industries including Residential and Light Commercial Heating & Air Conditioning, Hospitality and Refrigeration is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Lead A/R role located at our corporate branch in Eagan, MN. The Accounts Receivable Lead is a second level accounting position reporting directly to the Controller.  The position provides direct support for processing the day-to-day client invoices, credit requests, resolving customer disputes, and other AR activities.

Position responsibilities may include: 

  • Processing various types of accounts receivable transactions including client invoices, credit requests, resolving customer disputes 
  • Responsible for responding to client inquiries 
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly and weekly journal entries 
  • Maintaining the client master files in the account system 
  • Reviewing exception reports 
  • Running daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure all transactions and tasks are completed 
  • Train new hires or employees that are being given new tasks, ensure SOPs are up to date 
  • Interacts with internal and external customers in responding to inquiries or report requests as needed 
  • Administrative tasks for the team/company 
  • Performs other duties as assigned, such as establishment of new processes, onboarding new clients, corrective actions, or training with employees 
  • Works closely with the assistant controller on any people management items/issues 
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs 

Nature & Scope:

  • Oversees a group of employees and ensures job is done correctly 
  • Provides daily objectives 
  • Guides team at task level to ensure company goals are met 
  • Is recognized as an expert in own area within a department 
  • Provides mentoring and training for new employees 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written 
  • The ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new skills. 
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel to create account reconciliations 
  • Team oriented person who can focus on the details 
  • Report writing skills 

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience of accounts receivable processing experience. 
  • Demonstrate experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month-end closing processes and knowledge of accounting principles. 

Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma required. 
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required. 

People Management: No

  • Pay rate range is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience.
