Position Summary
The Controller is a key member of our management team, responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the bank’s financial operations. This position oversees accounting, financial reporting, regulatory filings, and accounts payable, while also serving as liaison to auditors and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily, monthly, and annual general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate Board reports, Call Reports, ALCO, and other financial filings.
- Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and state reporting requirements (including PDPA, escheatment, and Summary of Deposits)
- Act as primary liaison with auditors, regulators, and senior management
- Manage accounts payable, vendor relationships, and expense controls.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning.
- Represent the bank with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration – required
CPA, CBA, or other finance/audit credential – preferred
3–5 years of accounting or finance experience preferred (entry-level candidates with a degree and internships considered)
Proficiency with Excel, QuickBooks, and/or bank-specific accounting systems
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ethical standards
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements of this position are consistent with those of a typical office environment. The role primarily involves sedentary work, with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and reviewing documents. Frequent use of hands and fingers is required for typing, using a calculator, and handling paperwork. Visual acuity is essential for reading detailed financial data and reports. Occasional walking, bending, and lifting of items up to 20 pounds (such as files or binders) may be necessary.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional, climate-controlled office setting within a bank facility. The noise level is generally low to moderate, consistent with standard office activity. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours during month-end, year-end, or audit periods. The role requires frequent use of computers, accounting software, and other office equipment. The position involves working both independently and collaboratively with other departments, requiring a high level of discretion and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of financial information.
