About this Role:

NorthStar Energy Solutions is hiring! The Journeyman Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of energized transmission lines. This role requires working with high-voltage systems to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of electricity across various locations. The Journeyman Lineman must have extensive knowledge of electrical systems, adhere to safety regulations, and be prepared to work in challenging outdoor conditions, often responding to outages and emergency situations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and restoring the power grid.

What You'll Do:

• Safely construct, maintain, and repair 69kV–500kV transmission lines, structures, and associated hardware
• Climb poles and towers, operate bucket trucks and digger derricks, and perform work at elevated heights
• Install and sag conductor, string wire, and work with hot sticks and live-line tools when required
• Operate heavy equipment (e.g., line trucks, pullers, tensioners, cranes) under strict safety procedures
• Interpret transmission plans, job specifications, work orders, and engineered drawings
• Coordinate closely with crew foremen, site supervisors, and safety personnel on work sequencing and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
• Conduct pre-task tailboards and participate in site safety meetings and audits
• Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and safety documentation in compliance with company and client requirements
• Support storm restoration and emergency response efforts as needed across Texas and surrounding regions

What You'll Bring:

• Valid Journeyman Lineman certification from a recognized apprenticeship program
• Extensive experience working on high-voltage transmission line projects (69kV and above)
• Proficiency in climbing wood and steel structures, rigging, and operating aerial lift devices
• Ability to read and interpret transmission drawings, maps, and one-line diagrams
• Current CDL Class A or ability to obtain one, preferred
• Experience working in energized environments using hot-line tools and barehand techniques, preferred
• Excellent awareness of OSHA, NESC, and industry safety practices; commitment to zero-incident culture
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb, and work outdoors in all weather conditions, preferred
• Willingness to travel full-time within Texas and remain on assignment for extended durations
