Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Position Overview
Arizona Desert Shocks (ADS) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping & Receiving Clerk to manage the inbound and outbound flow of parts and products in our Shock Department. This role is essential to ensuring timely, accurate, and professional packaging and shipment of goods to our customers, as well as receiving and logging incoming shipments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping Duties
Accurately package parts and products in clean, damage-free ADS-branded boxes
Use appropriate packing materials to prevent damage during transit
Ensure all outgoing shipments are labeled correctly and correspond to sales orders
Consolidate multiple shipments onto pallets and securely wrap for freight transport
Determine the most cost-effective and reliable shipping method (UPS, USPS, freight, or customer account)
Create shipping labels and log costs for the Accounting Department
Attach packing lists and sales orders to outgoing shipments
Schedule and coordinate pickups with shipping carriers
Receiving Duties
Receive parts and components from the Shock Department with appropriate sales orders
Verify accuracy and quality of incoming shipments
Log and store incoming inventory in the designated areas
Notify relevant departments of received items
Inventory & Supply Management
Conduct routine inventory of shipping supplies and materials
Notify Purchasing Department when supplies are low
Identify and reuse packaging materials when appropriate
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shipping area
Customer & Vendor Interaction
Greet and assist walk-in customers; direct them to appropriate staff when needed
Interact positively with delivery drivers, vendors, and service personnel
Address and resolve basic shipping issues or customer complaints
Cross-Department Support
Provide assistance to other departments when needed
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment
Ability to lift and move boxes up to 70 lbs or more
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email platforms
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and care
Familiarity with tablets or basic troubleshooting of simple tech issues
