The Position:
The Psychoeducational Diagnostician administers psychological and learning assessments to assist families in understanding their child’s individualized needs. Based on the assessment results, a comprehensive report is written with recommendations and a follow-up interview is provided to the families to assist them in interpreting the results of the assessments. This role is also unique in that this individual has the opportunity to assist other professionals grow/learn in the role of diagnostician by proofreading and signing off on comprehensive reports of the master’s level staff.
Essential Functions:
- Interviews parents/caregivers and children as a part of the assessment process.
- Develops an evaluation plan based on the individual child’s needs.
- Administers, scores, and interprets psychological tests including psycho-diagnostic assessment of intellectual abilities, academic skills and behavior.
- Prepares written, comprehensive assessment reports with client recommendations, based upon testing results.
- Provides client follow-up interviews to ensure effective implementation of recommendations.
- Completes other program required documentation.
- Demonstrates teamwork and support of the JFS mission and values.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
- Complies with all company policies and standards.

Education:
Master's Degree in psychology or related field. MSEd or Ph.D. in psychology, counseling, education, or related field will be considered.
Work Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience post-PhD experience using psychometric methods, statistical procedures, and their applications in educational, behavioral/emotional and/or developmental assessments. Experience in the use of computer applications and testing software programs and in Psychological/Educational/Developmental testing, testing analysis and interpretation of results.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Training in psychometric methods and statistical procedures as their applications in psychological assessment.
- Training in administration and interpretation of psychological tests, including cognitive, academic, behavioral, and personality testing.
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Licenses, Certifications and Professional Affiliations:
Professional Missouri Licensure or certification
Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Physical Demands:
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. The potential exists for highly stressful and emotionally-charged encounters with clients and/or family members.
Travel:
Travel may be required for meetings with individuals and/or groups in other agencies or community locations.
