ROLE
SUMMARY
Shape Process Automation (SPA) is seeking a Service Technician to join our Aftermarket team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and technical support for SPA robotic systems across North America. This role includes operating the 24-hour hotline, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software issues, programming robot paths, and conducting customer training. The technician ensures optimal system performance and maintains strong customer relationships in alignment with SPA’s mission and goals.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Operate SPA 24-hour Hotline support.
- SPA daytime phone support.
- Robot preventative maintenance.
- SPA system preventative maintenance.
- Robot path programming.
- Robot mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- SPA system mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Robot electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- SPA system electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Robot software troubleshooting.
- SPA system software troubleshooting.
- Customer training.
- Maintaining excellent customer relations.
- Travel across North America.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL
Travel is estimated to be up to 75-80%.
LOCATION
This position is on-site.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- General mechanical knowledge.
- General electrical knowledge.
- Programming and/or troubleshooting knowledge of Fanuc robots (another robot brand knowledge is a plus).
- Computer skills, including MS Office and basic DOS commands.
- “Whatever it takes” type of attitude.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/GED
