GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the forecasting, purchasing, and production planning of supply items necessary for Store Operations. This includes issuing and processing orders and payments, vendor management, catalog management, data analysis, and internal customer support. The candidate must be detail oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, and timely. The Purchasing Agent must function in a fast-paced retail environment. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills as they will need to communicate cross functionally, as well as with the stores and Field Leaders.
The base pay range for this role is $26.59 - $38.77. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Daily support for the Stores’ needs with issuing Purchase Orders (POs), reconciling invoices (with AP), tracking orders, supporting special projects and, at times, negotiating costs with suppliers on new and existing products and services.
• Maintain day-to-day responsibilities including error-free PO execution, expense control, manage vendor inventory, and support the month-end/year-end close process.
• Maintain data integrity of all supply items to ensure supply catalogs are up to date with contracted pricing, specifications, lead times/transit times, and descriptions. Maintain current vendor lists.
• Respond to ad hoc inquiries and requests from assigned business partners. Complete special projects as assigned. .
• Work to develop best practices on process, execute tasks related to projects and time sensitive requests.
• Responsible for producing activity reports such as spend recaps, vendor back orders, usages and forecasts.
• Conduct field calls to seek feedback on purchasing improvements and build execution plans.
• Maintain and Track Freight invoices and accruals for the department
• Work with stores and supply vendors to ensure associate supplies are functional and in stock.
• Work with Store Operations to ensure Stores have updated State and Federal postings posted in appropriate areas

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2-3 years of purchasing/procurement/supply chain experience
• Must be proficient in MS Office, especially in Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups, etc.).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
