Required Certificate: TOH (Teacher of the Handicapped) or TOSD (Teacher of Students with Disabilities) plus Math 6-8 endorsement.
Salary: Following the established BTEA Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Guide ranging from $66,354 to $100,510 (2025-2026)

Description: Burlington Township is looking for a passionate and dedicated educator to join our progressive, student-centered learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, dynamic instruction that inspires and motivates students
Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support a positive and inclusive school culture
- Plan and implement individualized, standards-based instruction for students with a range of disabilities.
- Utilize behavior management techniques, including Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and individualized behavior intervention plans.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, case managers, general education teachers, and families.
- Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and interdisciplinary team discussions.
- Develop and monitor IEPs, ensuring goals are aligned with student needs and state standards.
- Use evidence-based practices to teach academic, functional, and social-emotional skills.
- Create a structured, supportive environment that promotes safety, independence, and learning.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education laws and regulations.
Build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and the community
Contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking educational team
Job Requirements:
Valid New Jersey certification: TOH (Teacher of the Handicapped) or TOSD (Teacher of Students with Disabilities) plus math endoresement.
Must meet NJ residency requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A passion for teaching, with the ability to connect with students and create a positive learning atmosphere
Required criminal history background check, proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Highly organized and motivated. Self-starter. Ability to work independently.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and demonstrate flexibility.
