Long Term Roving Substitute Teacher (Preschool & Special Education) bei Magnolia Elementary

The Long Term Roving Substitute Teacher assignment will run from now - 12/19/25, Monday through Friday, regular school hours (dates subject to change at any time). The roving substitute is notified (via the GroupMe app) the morning of the assignment as to which site they will be working at. Grade level and whether the assignment is regular or special education will not be known until arrival at the school site. The majority of the placements are in a special education classroom. There is a possibility that the assignment could be extended past 12/19/25. The daily rate is based on the tier of $195, $200, $205. All School Readiness Preschool Teacher assignments will add an additional $10.00 per day. (no long term rate of pay will be associated with this assignment). Once the long term assignment concludes, the person hired will be placed on the regular substitute list for day-to-day assignments and other long term possibilities.

To apply for the position of Long Term Roving Substitute Teacher you must have a minimum of 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development coursework and meet one (1) of the minimum requirements below: -Bachelor's Degree or higher -90 semester units of course work from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university and verification of current enrollment + satisfy the basic skills requirement (e.g. CBEST or CSET Writing Skills or CSU Early Assessment Program or Qualifying Score on the SAT/ACT or College Board Advanced Placement or passage of Basic Skills from Another State or Requirement by Coursework If you currently do not have a substitute permit, the Magnolia School District will assist and guide you in the application process via the Orange County Department of Education (see information on the column to the right). Please do not apply for your permit directly through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. It is best to apply through the Orange County Department of Education.

SALARY The daily salary ranges from $195-$205 daily. In addition to the daily rate, all long term assignments (serving as the teacher of record) will add an additional $15.00 per day. All School Readiness Preschool Teacher assignments will add an additional $10.00 per day.
