The Role

 

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and highly-organised individual to join our Professional Services Education Team. You will work closely with other professional service colleagues and academic leads to ensure effective and efficient administrative processes and support across the programmes delivered within School X.

 

You will be a problem solver with initiative and a can-do attitude and will be adaptable and flexible in your approach. You will have relevant administrative experience, particularly in process delivery and development, and customer service. You will be a ‘people person’ with an ability to work in and across teams and will be committed to providing an excellent student and colleague experience.

 

Education Administrators provide professional administrative services and leadership to ensure the smooth and effective running of the School’s taught programmes. Working as part of the Education Team, the postholder will contribute to the successful delivery of an excellent student and colleague experience.  You will work with students, academics, Professional Services colleagues and other key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  •  Provide expert guidance to students and academic colleagues, responding to standard and non-standard queries and requests quickly and efficiently and referring onwards where appropriate. 
  • Lead on the collation of student and education-related data and documentation using University systems, monitoring accuracy and ensuring timelines are managed and met.
  • Support student-related activities such as external audits, Personal Extenuating Circumstances and Boards of Examiners processes.
  • Co-ordinate and provide administrative support for Education related committees and meetings.
  • Provide professional support and training to School Education Assistants.
  • Support the administration and delivery of education and student experience related activities, as required, for example student induction and open days.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes across the faculty
  • Understand and implement relevant policies and procedures

 

The Person (Essential)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Work experience in an administrative or customer service setting, ideally in an educational organisation
  • Up to date and relevant IT skills
  • Strong numerical and data management skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage own, and other’s time and targets effectively to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills, with capability to customise communications for different audiences
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and to manage competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications, including Maths and English at GCSE Level 7 are essential
  • 2 A-levels or equivalent qualifications/experience are desirable
