Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal bei Ivcevidensia

Mckenzie Vets is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis.  We offer a diverse and interesting caseload, including a mix of medical and surgical cases such as routine neutering, pyometras, lump removals, GI foreign bodies and dentistry, as well as radiology and consults.  If you have a particular area of interest, we would be happy to support you in developing this further. 

We always pride ourselves in the high standard of care we bring for our patients.  We are very lucky to have lovely clients and pets and being rural we have an amazing variety of patients of all breeds and sizes.  We are small animal only but get some exotics and also occasionally do work with otters and turtles of the Sea Life Centre.  We have Silver Cat Friendly status and have achieved RCVS GP accreditation.

Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, that's why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves.  Our flexible approach to rotas and working hours offers a balance that flexes wit you and your lifestyle.  We work 40 hours over 4 or 5 days per week with Saturday mornings shared on an equal rota, however we are open to flexible working or part-time hours for the right candidate.  No Out of Hours requirement.

We are located in Alexandria in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, charming villages, fantastic countryside, awesome hills and mountains and so many watersports on Loch Lomond with its 22 islands.  We are only 30 minutes from Glasgow city centre with great transport links.  Famed for is Victorian and art nouveau architecture, a national cultural hub with the Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and National Theatre based there.  Thriving music scene and exceptional restaurants and bars, not to mention great shopping.  The options are endless.

Our practice is well equipped with the latest veterinary tools including dental machine and dental x-ray, digital radiology, Idexx biochemistry and haematology, ultrasound and laser.  Our team currently consists of four experienced vets, three RVN's (2 with certificates) who run their own clinics and nurse-led initiatives.  We have a dedicated theatre, prep area, kennels, three consult rooms.  

We like to think of Mckenzie Vets as "small but mighty" - small enough to be like a family but mighty enough to make a difference. We take part in charity events such as the Glasgow Kilt Walk and have fun at work with Great Mckenzie Bake Off and our annual Christmas Fuddle.
