Job Description:

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related services for multiple restaurant locations. This role includes recordkeeping, reporting, and providing accounting and project support to the Finance Department. It is well-suited to a payroll professional with a strong foundation in payroll processes who is looking to advance their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for assigned restaurant locations
  • Prepare and submit remittances (e.g., WSIB, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) as required
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and maintain payroll records/archives
  • Partner with restaurant management teams to resolve payroll-related issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Support Finance team with payroll reporting, audits, and special projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in multi-unit payroll processing
  • PCP certification (or working toward certification) considered an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with outsourced payroll systems; Ceridian Dayforce strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and diplomatic approach
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills

This is a hybrid role, with most of the week spent collaborating in person at our Toronto head office, and the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
