Who We Are

Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.

The Clinical Psychology Centre (CPC) is an outpatient mental health clinic and training centre within the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University. The CPC provides accessible, low-cost psychological services to clients across the Lower Mainland, offers training and education to clinical psychology graduate students, and supports psychological research. Our team of psychologists and administrative staff foster a supportive, flexible, and collaborative environment that values both excellence in client care and the professional development of future clinicians.

About the Role

Reporting to the CPC Director, the Psychologist plays a key role in advancing the CPC’s commitment to excellence in psychological service delivery and clinical training. This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful supervision and mentorship to graduate students while engaging in diverse activities such as case assignment and review, case presentations, clinical supervision, and consultation with students, colleagues, and community-based clinical associates. In addition, the Psychologist leads and participates in strategic projects that strengthen both the clinical and operational effectiveness of the clinic—for example, implementing an electronic health records system, developing student training initiatives, and planning and promoting the delivery of psychological services. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about both high-quality client care and the development of the next generation of clinical psychologists.

The successful candidate is a skilled clinician with expertise in providing evidence-based therapy and conducting comprehensive assessments with children, adolescents, and/or adults. They will bring strong experience in clinical supervision and will be comfortable contributing to the coordination and evaluation of clinical training initiatives. They are an excellent communicator—both orally and in writing—and possess outstanding interpersonal skills that foster trust and collaborative relationships. They will cultivate a supportive work environment and be open to giving and receiving constructive and timely feedback. This individual will thrive in both independent and team-based work, demonstrating flexibility, professionalism, and sound judgment.
