About You
Join RMIT’s Research and Innovation Portfolio as a Senior Coordinator, Awards Management and play a pivotal role in supporting world-class research. In this key position, you’ll manage the full spectrum of post-award processes for research grants—overseeing contractual arrangements, compliance, reporting, and project closeout. With a strong focus on Australian Research Council (ARC) funding, you’ll ensure researchers and the University meet obligations to external sponsors while driving service excellence and continuous improvement.
As the senior member of a collaborative team, you’ll mentor and support junior staff, share your expertise, and help shape best practice in research funding management. If you have significant experience in post-award administration, deep knowledge of ARC requirements, and a passion for enabling research success, this is your opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic, hybrid work environment at one of Australia’s leading global universities.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Significant experience in post-award research funding administration, including excellent knowledge of ARC and/or NHMRC grant guidelines, funding agreements and post-award processes.
Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service within a complex, multi-tiered organisation.
Demonstrated experience in using research management systems (or similar) and the ability to adopt new information technology tools to improve business processes and services.
Excellent organisational skills, including proven ability to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
An understanding of research finance/accounting would be highly regarded.
Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
