JOB SUMMARY:
The Rough Mill Lead will be responsible for achieving established safety, quality, and operational goals while optimizing efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain a production schedule based on the mill managers’ priority. Ensure that all members of the mill team adhere to the mission of Glenn Rieder.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads team members in the promotion and integration of new ideas and process improvements.
• Provide guidance and training for team members in their respective area.
• Assist in the keeping the mill team on task including the receiving team members
• Monitors levels of production per machine, labor performance, scraps and rejects, and housekeeping.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Responsible for keeping team members on the proper mill priorities
• Answers questions and leads team members on their designated area of responsibility.
• Responsible for the training and development of team members in their department
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by notification and follow up with the maintenance manager.
• Maintains continuity among the team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Must be able to measure parts with calipers and tape measure
• Meet and exceed objectives set by the mill manager
• Provide complete and accurate documents, records, and files in both electronic and paper form.
• Provide a professional and positive image to all visitors, suppliers, inquiries, and other interactions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5 years experience in an architectural millwork
• Ability to read architectural drawings
• Disciplined, dependable and resourceful
• Strong time management and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions and short correspondence with great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude
• Must possess a positive and professional attitude
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Must pass pre-employment physical / musculoskeletal exam
• Must pass drug screening
• Must pass an audiogram test
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
