Starting Range:  $61,547 - $73,486


Major Duties and Responsibilities

Provides oversight and maintenance of the Golf Club of Florissant.

· Develops and maintains a golf course maintenance management system. Develops golf course maintenance and operating procedures and methods within limits of city policies and procedures

· Provides necessary supervision, direction, and assistance to crews at work sites. Enforces policies, regulations and safety and health standards

· Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed

· Direct supervision over FT Golf Course Assistant Superintendent, PT Groundskeeper, and seasonal PT groundskeeping crew.

· Determines closure of the Golf Course due to inclement weather.

· Determines status of staff on Golf Course closure and slow production days.

· Processes payroll for groundskeeping staff and Clubhouse staff.

· Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates activities with other departments and agencies as needed

· Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow; studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations

· Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances; performs or assists subordinates in performing duties; adjusts errors and complaints

· Lays out daily work schedules and assigns tasks to appropriate individuals, crews or combination of crews, and coordinates the completion of the same

· Inspects golf course services provided by contractors or vendors for compliance with performance standards

· Improves work methods to accomplish assigned work

· Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

· Assigns, supervises and evaluates golf course workers, temporary employees or community services workers

· Develop and implement comprehensive turf management programs, including pest control, irrigation, fertilization, and aeration.

· Identify turf diseases, weeds, and pests, applying effective treatment solutions while prioritizing environmental health.

Requirements

Education and Experience

The person in this position must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in golf course programs. Associates degree or some college courses preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.


Licenses and Certifications

A valid driver’s license is required

Missouri Department of Agricultural Certified Commercial Applicator License
