Breeder Service Technician

The Breeder Service Tech is responsible for producing quality hatching eggs at a competitive cost.

Job Functions:

• Conduct all responsibilities in a manner that aligns with Peco’s vision, mission and core values
• Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment.
• Ensure that housing, roads and equipment are maintained to Peco standards.
• Ensure that farms are managed according to Peco standards.
• Ensure that hatching eggs are handled correctly.
• Weigh, flesh, blood test, and collect fat correctly and on schedule.
• Works with feed mill in ordering the proper feed and in the volume needed. 
• Ensure that proper water and feed withdrawal is practiced and house is ready for catching.
• Make decisions on feed amounts that will result in maximum production at best cost.
• Follow animal welfare and biosecurity programs and ensure that Producers are trained and following these standards.
• Provide information for reports properly and on schedule.
• Monitors and consults with at least 6 breeder contract Producers on the designated service route.
• Handles various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting/standing/walking/driving 100% of the workday.
• Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions.
• Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
• Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
