Position Overview:

The Roofing Laborer plays a vital role in supporting the roofing crew with the safe and efficient completion of residential roofing projects. This position involves physically demanding tasks, including carrying and staging materials, preparing job sites, and assisting with installation of roofing systems. Roofing Laborers work closely with roofing apprentices, technicians, and crew leads to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.

This role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork, as well as the ability to perform strenuous physical tasks while exposed to varying weather conditions and working at heights. A successful Roofing Laborer demonstrates initiative, takes pride in their work, and is willing to learn industry skills that may lead to advancement into more skilled roofing positions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing roofing materials and tools on job sites.
• Prepare work areas by setting up ladders, scaffolding, safety equipment, and protective coverings for landscaping and property.
• Remove old roofing materials and debris safely and efficiently.
• Support roofers during the installation of shingle roofing systems.
• Cut, measure, and handle roofing materials under the supervision of experienced roofers.
• Protect customer property (driveways, siding, landscaping, windows) by using tarps, plywood, and other protective measures.
• Perform thorough daily cleanup of the job site, ensuring it is left in a safe, organized, and customer-ready condition.
• Complete a triple magnetic nail sweep to remove nails and hazards from the property.
• Operate hand tools and basic power tools as required.
• Represent the company with professionalism by being courteous, respectful, and customer service-oriented on every job site.
• Perform additional general labor duties as assigned by the crew leader.

Requirements

Working Hours:
Generally, Monday through Friday, 6am until 5pm.

Qualifications:

• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous construction or roofing experience preferred but not required (on-the-job training provided).
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Must be safety-conscious and able to follow instructions carefully.
• Reliable transportation
• Clear background check and drug test

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing and walking, which may be for extended periods of time
• Lifting and carrying, up to 100 lbs
• Pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead
• Manipulation of objects and materials, including holding, grasping, turning, and touching
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling
• Climbing ladders, stairs, or scaffolding
• Hearing, in-person and through the telephone or electronic device (such as a tablet)
• Visual acuity, both near (i.e. clarity of vision of approximately 20 inches or less) and far (i.e. clarity of vision of approximately 20 feet or more)
• Speaking, in-person and through the telephone or electronic device
