The Position


This position provides project management for our projects and contracts, contributing to business growth and enhancing team efficiency. Responsibilities include leading project management activities ranging from proactive long-term planning to tracking progress towards existing near-term goals. This person will coordinate tasks and deadlines with customers, engineering leadership, and our engineers to ensure overall customer satisfaction. The key responsibilities of this position are to ensure Etegent delivers exceptional results to our customers, and to nurture productive, long-term, collaborative relationships with our customers and partners. 


This position will be accountable for overseeing all aspects of project planning and execution, ensuring commitments to scope, schedule, and budget are met. This role sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, manages schedule and key milestones, and summarizes project progress while fostering strong working relationships with team members, vendors, customers, and other departments. 


This position is based in Beavercreek, OH with the expectation of being in Etegent’s office or at a customer facility 3-4 days a week.

This position requires leadership skills in working with a cross-functional team through roadblocks and issues that could impede progress if not proactively addressed. This role requires a demonstrated ability to influence across business units and effectively coordinate external and internal resources, and a track record of leading large, complex projects through to success.  


Job Responsibilities:  

  • Provide daily project management for research and development programs. 
  • Conduct forward-looking project planning with attention to tasks to be completed, project due dates, and resource availability. 
  • Pro-actively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with engineering leads. 
  • Maintain close communication with customers to ensure customer needs and expectations are understood and addressed by the project team. 
  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare and present compelling briefs to inform customers of progress and potential additional development/work opportunities. 
  • Prepare internal project documentation to facilitate engineering off/on-boarding from projects and ensure continuity between phases of projects. 
  • Track and fulfill formal communication requirements for customers and contracts (status meetings, status reports, final reports, etc.). 
  • Track and fulfill internal communication requirements for projects and contracts, including monitoring and reporting overall project health (completed work, remaining work, deadlines, overages, roadblocks, etc.). 
  • Ensure fulfillment of statements of work and other project deliverables on time and within budgeted hours while working with teams to ensure customer satisfaction and success. 
  • Proactively report when project plans (budget, hours, planned dates, tasks, etc.) will not be met. 
  • Provide up-to-date and accurate forecasts of project spending, financials, milestones, and delivery dates. 
  • Own the resource planning process and work with engineering leaders to determine task assignments with defined objectives, due dates, and estimated hours. 
  • Coordinate projects by managing and utilizing resources with attention to interdependence. 
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with attention to past performance and future efforts.? 
  • Track and report companywide KPIs, such as project health and priorities progress, and host regular reviews with internal stakeholders.  
  • Identify known customer needs to appropriate team members. 
  • Work with others to define & improve processes and standards for the engineering team. 


Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s  Degree in a related field (business, engineering, communications, or related). 
  • Minimum of 3 years in managing projects that involve software, machine learning, or some other complex technical scope. Ability to manage multiple technical projects. 
  • Experience working with the DoD. 
  • Experience managing research-and-development contracts.  
  • Fluent in program management methodologies. 
  • Planning  and implementation experience. 
  • Experience with project management tools (Planner, Project, or others) 
  • Expertise in creating work breakdown structures, risk management techniques, cost estimating, schedule development, and other concepts associated with project management methodologies. 
  • Proven record of leading project execution activities to deliver results for business stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated  ability to execute a plan and report on milestone status. 
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive a U.S. Security Clearance which at a minimum requires applicant to be a US Citizen. See: Executive Order 12968 indicates U.S. Citizenship requirement to obtain a security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification. 
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
