Description
The Gainesville Glows Special Events Associate is a part time seasonal team member supporting bar/beverage service, s’mores sales, event execution, and guest check-in. This is a customer-facing role requiring flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bartender
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized bar area
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including Bar set-up bar and bar break-down
- Monitor bar inventory and maintain supply levels throughout each shift
- Verify customer age when ordering alcoholic beverages
Beverage Production
- Produce beverage station (Hot cocoa, Apple Cider, drink prep, etc.) by assembling ingredients according to specifications
- Conduct quality control checks
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, including tools
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels
- Conserves resources by using supplies as needed to accomplish job results
S’mores Sales
- Sell and upsell individual s'mores kits
- Ability to calculate sales
- Provide excellent service throughout the selling process to serve customer needs
- Operate SpotOn POS accurately and efficiently
- Provide friendly, helpful service and address customer concerns, reporting issues to management as needed
Event Runner/Support
- Provides support to all private events and food and beverage outlets
- Replenishes product and equipment as needed to bars
- Assists with opening setup and closing duties, securing the Garden premises when needed
- Relay key information to bartenders, event leads and captains as needed
Check-in
- Mans check-in table for private events by greeting guests and checking names off a list
- Distributes wristbands, drink tickets and other items as indicated on the paperwork
- Assists with directional signage as needed
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and guests
- Adhere to Garden-wide standards and policies
- Work and interact professionally with all levels of management and staff of the Garden
- Maintain a positive, guest-focused attitude during all shifts and events
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- TIPS Certification must be completed within 1 week of hire
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to lift chairs, tables, product, and relocate to various areas throughout the Garden
- Must be able to work independently as well as on a team environment
- Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and quick to solve problems
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing and walking 90% of the time
- Regularly lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
