Part-Time Custodian (East Oahu) bei Hawaiian Building Maintenance

We are currently seeking a part-time Custodian for an office building in Aina Haina, Hawaii 96821. This role requires good communication skills and a strong customer service orientation. Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or similar fields is a plus, we are open to providing training. Candidates should be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, which involves walking, standing for long periods, and pushing carts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness in common areas of the facility
• Communicate effectively and comprehend English
• Interact with customers, vendors, and management
• Clean and maintain various areas: sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass doors and mirrors, maintaining restrooms, and using a buffer machine in designated areas: office spaces, parking lot, and hallway/walk path.
• Operate a vacuum for indoor cleaning
• Clean restrooms and restock supplies
• Collect and dispose of trash in designated areas
• Lift trash from bins, bend, and navigate staircases
• Stand and walk for long period of time
• Push trash bins as required

Schedule: 

• 30 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 3pm to 9pm

Compensation: $16.00/per hour

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must pass a background check
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, but we are willing to train
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Strong public relations and communication skills
• Applicants must be able to perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs), and be capable of reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, stretching, walking, and navigating stairs throughout their shifts.
