We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Finance to lead our financial strategy and operations, ensuring that every dollar is deployed effectively to maximize mission impact. Requirements

   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategic Planning and Leadership

  • Provide vision and direction for the organization’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business growth, market opportunities, and long-term sustainability.
  • Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to shape and execute strategic and financial plans that advance the mission, vision, and organizational goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, representing the agency in key internal and external forums and leading the Finance Committee in delivering strategic financial guidance.
  • Drive the development of forecasting models, performance metrics, and reporting that equip leadership with actionable insights into the organization’s financial health.
  • Evaluate current and future business operations to strengthen financial performance, optimize cash flow, and ensure fiscal resilience.

Financial Strategy and Operations

  • Provide executive oversight of all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness across accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong cash flow management and financial controls to support both daily operations and long-term organizational needs.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and other financial partners to strengthen the organization’s financial position.
  • Lead ongoing improvements to financial systems and processes, driving efficiency and scalability across the organization.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing performance analysis to guide the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board in achieving organizational goals.
  • Deliver financial forecasts and analysis that support strategic decision-making and resource development, including fundraising initiatives.
  • Grants and Fund Compliance
  • Oversee all grant funding and financial operations to ensure compliance with funder requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate across departments to maintain accurate, transparent, and timely reporting, aligning grant tracking and compliance with organizational goals.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and financial service providers, ensuring all audits, reporting, and regulatory obligations are met.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Implement effective financial systems and processes to ensure operational excellence and support organizational goals.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement, empowering staff and promoting open, transparent cross-departmental communication.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years in financial management, with 7+ years in a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and fund accounting software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Professional in handling confidential information.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting in the nonprofit or government sectors.
  • Strong organizational skills to streamline finance functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines accurately.
  • Capable of simplifying complex financial matters.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The work will involve normal physical activity associated with an office setting, including long periods of time working at a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work to be performed in a standard office environment. Some offsitoff-site,e event support may be required some public speaking for small groups may be required. This position is not eligible for full remote work.  This position may be eligible for hybrid schedule according to the company’s policy.
