Who We're Looking For

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Packaging Lead to join our team in Lebanon, TN.  If you're a natural leader who can keep a team motivated through repetitive tasks, we want to hear from you!

The position offers 1st Shift hours 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday.  The starting wage is $20 per hour, with adjustments based on individual skills and experience.

What You'll Do

•    Schedule Packaging Department's workflow from instructions provided by the Production Supervisor, who will provide Production Reports to assist in determining priorities.

•    Prepare sorting or assembly process to ensure the most efficient and most accurate processing possible.  

•    Look ahead and identify products that must be produced in order to complete sets and meet deadlines – advise Production Supervisor(s) of those needs.

•    Create and maintain effective tools to simplify processes on product lines that cycle through on a repetitive basis. Standardize processes where possible to ensure the greatest speed and accuracy.

•    Work with temporary labor pool to ensure packaging or assembly of completed products is done efficiently and accurately. 

•    Create a smooth-running assembly line, instructing temporary employees in the process quickly, while also managing their activities.

•    Maintain an organized Packaging department. 

•    Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of equipment within the department.

•    Support company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.

•    Complete necessary departmental production reports and maintain temporary employee timecards accurately. 

•    Train and mentor employees to successfully complete work tasks, resolving issues, when necessary, through employee counseling.

•    Participate in departmental and company meetings.

•    Other tasks assigned.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document assembly work accurately.

Physical & Work Requirements: 

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and overhead work.
• Work in environments with moving machinery and extreme temperatures (-20°F to 115°F).
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
