Duties
As an Associate Underwriter – Contract Surety, you will participate in structured training programs, both in the classroom and on the job. You’ll develop a deep understanding of construction accounting, bond submissions, credit evaluations, and legal document analysis. You’ll review underwriting files, manage data systems, and assist in preparing risk assessments for management review.
This role involves meaningful collaboration with internal teams and external agents. As an Associate Underwriter – Contract Surety, you’ll also travel within the territory to attend industry events, shadow leaders, and participate in business development meetings. Every day will bring new learning opportunities and challenges that help you grow professionally and contribute to team success.
Education & Experience
To succeed as an Associate Underwriter – Contract Surety, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Construction Management/Technology, or a related field. A prior internship in financial services is strongly desired. This role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals early in their career looking to build a strong foundation in surety underwriting.
