The Director of Consumer Finance will lead our nationwide consumer finance operations. This pivotal role will involve overseeing all aspects of consumer finance operations, managing relationships with third-party lenders, directing a team of central credit analysts and ensuring seamless financing solutions for our customers. The role requires the individual to possess strong financial acumen, polished negotiation and relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in consumer finance or a related field. We are at the forefront of adopting and implementing a new technology platform that will digitally automate most of the lending journey from origination to funding. This leader will be the technology advocate and champion to ensure a successful roll-out and achieve the targeted performance improvements from the investment.
What You'll Do:
Functional Leadership: Oversight of greater than $1B annually in third-party consumer financing originations; responsible for optimizing the company’s consumer financing process and partners to ensure the highest approval rates at the lowest possible cost with exceptional customer experience.
Partnership Management: Manage relationships with third-party lenders, negotiating terms and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain an active dialogue with lending partners on a daily basis to ensure as many approvals of deals on the margin as possible. Evaluate and onboard new lending partners to expand financing options for customers, with the goal to obtain the highest approval rates across the industry at the lowest cost with the most favorable stage funding advance provisions.
Financial & Data Analytics Performance: Oversee the financial health of consumer finance operations, developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics. Develop and manage financial reporting related to consumer finance activities. Provide insights to Divisional and Marketing leaders to help inform sales and lead funnel management success.
Developing High Performing Teams: Oversee development and contributions from centralized team of credit analysts. Ensure consistent level of service to in-home sales representatives and successfully close loan proposals at the most efficient cost with high customer satisfaction.
Customer Acquisition & Training Development: Collaborate with sales teams to enhance customer acquisition by promoting best practices in consumer finance. Implement training programs for internal teams on consumer finance products, ensuring that sales staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to support financing initiatives.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant consumer finance regulations and guidelines, in collaboration with internal legal and licensing counterparts.
Monitor Trends in Consumer Credit: Stay informed about evolving trends and developments in consumer credit markets and economic conditions.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience in consumer finance, financial services, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of lending products and operations in direct-to-consumer business model
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail
Demonstrated track record of data-driven performance improvements in consumer finance products
Innovation orientation, with passion for technology enabled solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
