SUMMARY

Tarrytown Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Logistics Director to design, optimize, and oversee our end-to-end logistics strategy across all pharmacy locations nationwide. This role ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of medications to Long-Term Care (LTC) and Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) facilities, supporting our mission of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national logistics strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Centralize and standardize logistics processes, performance metrics, and SOPs across regional operations.
  • Build scalable distribution networks to support future growth and acquisitions.
  • Drive vendor selection, contracting, and performance management (couriers and carriers).
  • Partner with Operations, Inventory, and IT to ensure delivery methods align with care model and compliance standards.
  • Lead and support regional logistics leadership teams, fostering accountability and professional development.
  • Establish and monitor national logistics metrics including service levels, delivery timeliness, cost per delivery, compliance, and customer experience.
  • Implement technology and automation solutions to improve routing, tracking, and reporting.
  • Develop and execute cost optimization initiatives delivering measurable savings across courier, routing, and distribution spend.
  • Serve as primary logistics SME for the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Logistics, supporting board-level reporting and financial planning.

  • Cost Management: 5% year-over-year reduction in cost per delivery.

  • Innovation: Rollout of at least one major logistics improvement project annually with positive ROI.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Improved or sustained high NPS tied to delivery/timeliness.
  • Retention: Contributes to =95% customer retention through reliable service.
  • Development: Ongoing coaching, training, and talent development to build future logistics leaders.

Requirements

  Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution management (healthcare or pharma preferred).
  • Proven success managing multi-site or nationwide logistics operations.
  • Strong vendor negotiation and performance management skills.
  • Experience with logistics technology, automation, and routing optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
