Description

BETA Group, Inc is looking for an Associate to join our rapidly growing Environmental Science team with a variety of exciting ASTM & MassDEP projects in progress. This individual will spearhead high-impact environmental initiatives and play a key role in shaping sustainable solutions within major infrastructure projects, driving environmental excellence from concept through construction. We’re looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record in delivering complex environmental projects, driving business growth, and building strong client partnerships. As a key member of BETA’s Environmental team, this leader will campaign high-level technical efforts and oversee the successful execution of environmental assessments, regulatory permitting, and impact analyses that integrate sustainability and compliance. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and development of diverse projects and programs, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination
  • Prepare high-quality proposals that effectively communicate technical approach and value to prospective clients
  • Support strategic business development efforts, including client engagement, networking, and identifying new opportunities 
  • Apply innovative problem-solving skills to tackle complex, multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering challenges
  • Supervise and conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with environmental standards and project specifications
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of research findings with exceptional attention to detail
  • Manage and coordinate field operations such as soil boring advancement, groundwater monitoring well installation, sub-slab soil gas installation, and groundwater elevation surveys
  • Perform environmental media sampling, data analysis, and data interpretation to support project objectives
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff, fostering skill development and project success
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documentation in compliance with state requirements for CT, MA, RI, and NH
  • Conduct data collection, field investigations, cost estimating, calculations, and maintain organized project records
  • Cultivate strong client relationships by delivering excellent service and participating in business development initiatives, including marketing efforts, proposal writing, and industry networking
  • Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the team and project goals

Preferred location is BETA’s Norwood office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

Required Experience/Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science
  • 20+ years of experience conducting ASTM and MassDEP related assessment and remedial activities
  • Project management experience
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills including a solid foundation in MS Office applications
  • Must be able to manage client relationships and drive business development initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare formal reports
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience/Skills :

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science
  • Licensed Site Professional (LSP) certification
