About the Department
Position Duties
FACILITY/PROGRAM AREA SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE:
Positions assigned to Athletics may be responsible for:
- Assisting with and/or lead athletics programming such as basketball, flag football, t-ball/coach pitch, beach volleyball, archery, summer camps, kickball, etc.
- Planning and leading recreation therapy programs
- Helping with recruitment and supervision of Junior Officials
- Helping supervise games, practices and open gym
- Recommending and maintaining equipment and other program-related inventory
- Implementing marketing strategies for athletics programs
Minimum Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and six months of relevant experience in athletics, sports and recreational programming or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Class C Driver’s License
Other Qualifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Exerting up to 30 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR may require walking or standing to a significant degree.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position generally requires work indoors in a recreation, fitness center, or neighborhood center, as well as outdoors for special programs and events.
