Description:The Aircraft Mechanic 1 repairs, replaces, and rebuilds MH47G functional components including rigging, flight controls, components, plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, and special tools.
Responsibilities:- Works supporting the SOATB MH47 program.
- The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, axillary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
- This worker will read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Will support TDY missions away from home station.
- May be required to work second shift when assigned on rotation.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
- 6+ years' experience in rotary wing aviation.
- Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time / complete TDY assignments.
- Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records.
- Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate equipment/vehicles on the flight line and be a member of the aircraft towing team.
- Must have own tools/toolbox.
- Experience using aircraft special tools and test sets.
- Experience with MH-47 aircraft is desirable.
