Job Description
We're looking for an experienced and reliable Construction Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our diverse fleet of construction equipment. You will also be responsible for safely transporting this equipment between our shop, various job sites, and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engines and a comprehensive understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for work.
Responsibilities -
- Service and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on a variety of construction equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, etc.). Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and small motors.
- Transportation: Safely load, secure, and transport heavy equipment as well as jobsite equipment and supplies between our shop, active job sites, and other locations.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair work, and transportation logs.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, both in the shop and on the road.
- Inventory Management: Exhibit strong abilities to be organized around inventory and shop cleanliness.
Qualifications -
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, with a strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and repair.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience with small motor and tool repair.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- A Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- The ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
