ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

An employee in this classification is required to perform some or all of the following duties, however these do not include all of the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform:  provide clinical and/or administrative consultation on mental health service delivery; oversee technical divisional and program projects such as training, orientation, etc.; complete program review of clinical case records; facilitate peer case consultation; provide clinical back up to treatment staff; act as program contact for Access System, facilitating assignment of requests for services; provide direct services to persons served; provide consultation to other community agencies; may provide input for employee evaluations; maintain accurate and timely case record documentation; conducts assessments and makes diagnostic evaluation; provide treatment services delineated within the Individual Plan of Service; participates in the Person Centered Planning process and follows through with plan; provides individual and/or group therapy and crisis intervention as needed; may provide direct case management services to persons served (coordination, linking and monitoring of services) and coordinates activities with other agencies and assists utilization of these resources by persons served; comply with Transportation Policy (09-002-0010), Alcohol & Drug Testing Policy (06-001-0010) and Background Check Policy (06-001-0015), as well as supervisors/designee directives; maintain confidentiality.  For a Clinical Coordinator performing “floater” duties, the following would also apply:  Take on cases as assigned by the Program Director/Designee in Direct Operated Programs to offset capacity needs across all treatment populations; Complete case record audits on a sample of records from Direct Operated Programs as assigned by the Program Director/Designee; Provide technical assistance to staff/programs on audit compliance issues (goal writing, etc.) as assigned by the Program Director/Designee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position; however the employee may oversee other clinical staff.  This position receives supervision from the Division Director/designee.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills

  • Education:

- Master’s Degree in Social Work

  • Licensure:  

- Fully Licensed Master’s Social Worker

- Valid Michigan Driver’s License

  • Experience/Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to utilize DSM V for diagnostic process

- Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health treatment procedures applicable to public Mental Health populations

- Demonstrated knowledge of current and best practices within practice area

- Diagnostic abilities relative to program population

- Knowledge of community agencies/systems typically involved in comprehensive treatment of identified program population

At least three (3) years’ experience working in the public mental health system

Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Windows and Word software

  • Other:        

- Must have access to transportation

- Must qualify as QMHP, QIDP, or QCMHP, according to program assignment

- If using Agency vehicles, must pass random drug and alcohol screening

- Participate in after hour’s emergency crisis response

- Demonstrated proficiency in Agency operating systems and OASIS software

- Training and knowledge of at least eight (8) Evidence-Based Practices

PERSONAL DEMANDS:

Personal demands refer to the physical demands, such as awkward positions, heavy lifting, etc., and the mental demands, such as concentration, attention, perception, etc.   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee would expect light, regular physical demand, such as frequent standing or walking; close attention, such as observation of gauges, timers, etc.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Work environment refers to the elements of work surroundings which tend to be disagreeable or to make the work more difficult.  These include, but are not limited to: dust, oil, fumes, water, heat, cold, vibrations, noise, dirt, etc.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee would expect disagreeable elements to be negligible.   Good light and ventilation; reasonable quiet.
