POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage complex business intelligence projects, support internal teams by troubleshooting tools, and develop actionable reports that influence key business decisions. You will have the autonomy to analyze data, recommend strategies, and optimize processes across the organization, driving data-driven decision-making at the highest levels.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management and Leadership:

  • Lead end-to-end management of critical business intelligence and reporting tool projects, overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of solutions.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define strategic project goals and deliver solutions that align with the company's long-term objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure timely delivery, driving business results.
  • Directly manage and mentor BI developers and external consultants, holding regular stand-up meetings to monitor progress and resolve roadblocks.
  • Lead quarterly Subject Matter Expert (SME) meetings, leveraging feedback to influence future business intelligence tools and capabilities.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement strategic solutions to mitigate potential issues, ensuring the alignment of projects with business priorities.

Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Serve as a strategic point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving complex data and system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Take ownership of root cause analysis and work with IT and cross-functional teams to implement effective, sustainable solutions to system-related challenges.
  • Drive improvements to internal business planning tools, contributing to process optimization and greater efficiency across business units.

Report Development and Execution:

  • Independently design, develop, and implement high-level reports and dashboards, translating business requirements into actionable insights.
  • Utilize advanced BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, QlikView) to craft executive-level visualizations that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of data structures and BI tools to optimize data query performance and maintain the highest standards of data accuracy.

Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends and actionable insights that inform key business decisions and drive continuous improvements in operations.
  • Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders, influencing high-level decisions with a clear, actionable approach.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of business intelligence by overseeing data validation and cleansing processes.

Documentation and Training:

  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, data mappings, and report definitions, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive training programs and materials, enabling users to fully leverage business intelligence tools and maximize reporting capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by educating teams on best practices and promoting the use of data to inform business strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in retail planning and/or business intelligence, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality BI solutions.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or BI Cubes, with a strong focus on creating actionable data visualizations.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a strategic approach to data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in the retail industry, including a solid understanding of retail math, is highly desirable.
