Basic Function:
The Visitation Program Caseworker will ensure the physical and emotional safety of youth during contact with their families, while attempting to strengthen parent/child relationships, reduce trauma, promote attachment and enhance parental protective actions and capabilities. Detailed, accurate and timely documentation is a key responsibility of this role. Some evening, weekend and holiday hours expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete required training in Visiting Coaching model and maintain fidelity to the model while working with children and families.
- Provide supervised visitation in accordance with each family’s visitation plan.
- Develop overall goals and specific goals for each visit, consistent with the visitation plan.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including Visitation Plans, individual visitation notes, 90-Day Assessments, Discharge Summaries, and any documents requested by the courts.
- Provide transportation for children and parents to and from the visits when needed.
- Communicate with DCF and other providers on all cases when necessary.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate family scheduling needs and inclement weather.
- Incorporate a wide range of coaching approaches when working with families: Use of Play, Modeling, Instruction and Rehearsal.
- Participate in and contribute to Team Meetings.
- Attend court hearings when necessary.
- Help maintain a clean and welcoming environment for families.
- Maintain general knowledge of and adherence to Agency policies and procedures as contained in the WCS Personal Handbook, WCS Procedure Manual, and Department Manual.
- Gain a general understanding of agency treatment models such as CARE and TCIF.
- Function as positive role model for children, parents and other staff.
- Maintain an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic differences present among the service population and fellow staff members of WCS, ensuring that cultural needs are respected and supported through the delivery of services and the development and implementation of Agency programs and policies in a manner that is free from discrimination and bias relating to race, ethnicity, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, status as a victim of domestic violence or religious beliefs.
- Other duties as directed by the Assistant Program Director or Program Director.
Flexible Telework Capability
Flexible ability to work remotely as approved by a direct Supervisor, or in the event of a declared weather or other emergency. Telework should be performed in accordance with the Remote Work Policy in the WCS Personnel Handbook.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree preferred, but not required. Experience working in a similar/interchangeable capacity in direct child care program(s) will be equally considered. Previous experience in working with children required.
