The Cash Room Attendant is responsible for managing the daily flow of cash before, during, and after the show. This includes, but is not limited to, daily vault audits, providing change to associates in the Food and Beverage department, and preparing bank deposits.

Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.

Essential Functions:

  • Audits safe at the beginning and end of shift.
  • Distributes cash banks prior to an event.
  • Provides change throughout the shift as necessary.
  • Verifies cash banks as they are received at the end of the event.
  • Prepares daily bank deposit.
  • Prepares bank change order as necessary.
  • Reviews all required paperwork to include the cash control form and main cashier's report and notify any errors to closing supervisor.
  • Submits daily sales paperwork in envelope for review the following day.
  • Updates bartender over/short binder, as necessary.
  • Additional responsibilities as required by the Food and Beverage - Administrative Assistant.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • This position requires the ability and willingness to work a variable schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs.
  • Must be willing and available to work on-site.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to accurately handle money.
  • Good observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to successfully multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years' cash handling experience is preferred.

  • The employee is required to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, at minimum of six hours, and traverse the Center. The employee must be able to safely move, carry and transport objects which may weigh up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to type and communicate effectively.
