Reports to Sustainability Manager

Role Overview

Aztec is committed to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. As our Community Impact specialist, you will lead and evolve our community and charity engagement strategy, support employee volunteering, and explore new initiatives such as a foundation and employee/company giving programmes. This role will be pivotal in embedding Aztec’s purpose ‘enabling brighter futures’ into our social impact agenda.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Charity Engagement

  • Work with stakeholders to design and deliver a Group-wide community impact strategy aligned with Aztec’s values and sustainability agenda
  • Build partnerships with charity and community organisations, including ongoing support for initiatives such as the Red Cross emergencies fund
  • Collaborate with People Network leads to activate local community commitments and amplify grassroots impact

Employee Volunteering

  • Develop and manage a structured employee volunteering programme, including time out the office procedures, recognition, and impact tracking
  • Collaborate with local People Network teams to bring relevant and meaningful volunteering opportunities to our employees
  • Partner with the Internal Communications team and People Networks to promote volunteering stories and encourage participation across jurisdictions

Giving & Foundation Initiatives

  • Explore and propose models for employee and company giving, including matched giving, payroll giving, and micro-grants.
  • Lead feasibility and design of a potential Aztec Foundation, including governance, funding, and alignment with Sustainability goals

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Sustainability, Inclusion, Wellbeing, Reward, Communications and Engagement teams to ensure community impact is integrated across Aztec’s broader people and purpose agenda
  • Work with the Community and Charity People Network teams and wider People Network Teams across our offices to bring our community impact strategy to life across our business
  • Provide development support and coaching for our Community and Charity People Network teams to effectively manage local charity partners
  • Support the Communications team in storytelling and reporting on impact, including contributions to annual Sustainability Reviews and Group initiatives  

Governance and Reporting

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for community initiatives aligned to Group-wide community impact strategy, clearly demonstrating progress and next steps.
  • Provide regular updates to key stakeholders and contribute to external reporting and internal dashboards.
  • Ensure appropriate due diligence is undertakes on charity and community activities, considering alignment to out north stars where appropriate  
  • Coordinate meetings of our network committees, ensuring appropriate governance and reporting is in place, with decisions formally logged

 

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in community engagement, CSR, ESG, or social impact roles.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver strategic programmes with measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively across different levels of the organisation.
  • Report designing and governance framework skills.
  • Proactive team player with the ability to motivate others to be involved and generate action
  • Desire to understand community engagement differences across out locations and flex approach 1905

We will provide the training, both in house for relevant technical knowledge and also professional qualifications to enhance your professional development. You will need to be quick to learn new systems and great with people, as close working relationships between our colleagues and clients is at the heart of what we do.
