About the Role & Team 

As part of the Sportsbook team, you will provide services to enhance our customers' experience within our Sportsbook platforms.  Actively look beyond the transactional elements of the product and delight our customers by providing the best experience to find, place, share, track and settle Sportsbook bets. This role involves direct collaboration with our design, product, frontend, and backend development teams to define and deliver first-class sports betting experience. As a company, we are design and UX-focused, we believe in turning complex problems into aesthetically beautiful and simple interfaces. This team has high visibility and develops features that have a direct impact on the product and the user experience. We iterate quickly so you have plenty of opportunities to learn & grow technically, but more importantly, we have fun while doing it. 

About the Work 

As a key member of the Sportsbook team, you will: 

  • Work with our preferred technology stack (Primarily Elixir, Phoenix, Phoenix LiveView). 
  • Develop, scale, and optimize gRPC endpoints, GraphQL APIs, and SQL queries. 
  • Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity. 
  • Navigate through highly sensitive and regulated systems in our codebase; ensuring highest level of code quality and test coverage. 
  • Participate in the design, architecture, and delivery of new features in a collaborative agile/scrum environment. 
  • Collaborate with other teams and various stakeholders to build integrations with other internal services. 
  • Setting up monitoring and alerting with Datadog, Bugsnag, PagerDuty. 
  • Other duties as required. 

About You 

  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms and software design. 
  • Passionate about clean code architecture and software craftsmanship. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly with various stakeholders, add and maintain documentation and work with other team members. 
  • Comfortable working in the terminal. 
  • Experience with Git and GitHub or similar. 
  • Proficiency within an editor of your choice. 
  • A passion for sports and/or gaming is considered an asset. 
  • Experience with Elixir, building GraphQL APIs (Absinthe), GraphQL schema stitching & subscriptions, GCP, Kubernetes, JavaScript SSR, contribution to open source software, passion for sports and/or esports.
